Barra Apartment

Located in a classic four-storey building overlooking Praia da Barra, the project reinterprets the original residence, transforming it into a contemporary retreat rooted in the coastal landscape. The interior design focuses on serenity and functionality, combining minimalist lines and natural materials: beige tones inspired by sand envelop the oak floors and walls, while light-coloured ceilings amplify the natural light. The volume housing the bathrooms is clad in grey mirror, emerging as a sculptural element that, through reflection, expands the spatial boundaries and brings lightness and continuity to the environment. The living area is configured as an open and fluid space that integrates the living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room, promoting continuity and flexibility. The bedroom is designed as a peaceful sanctuary, with an en-suite bathroom and large wardrobe, offering comfort and privacy. The intervention creates a balance between simplicity and sophistication, functionality and emotion, giving rise to a harmonious domestic experience in constant dialogue with the surrounding coastal landscape.
